It was over a decade ago when a judge from the Juvenile Court appointed me to represent a young woman, who the State of Florida, wanted to sever her parental rights. Taking a child away from a parent is not easy but in this case the mother was seriously at risk of permanently losing her toddler. That same judge had appointed a Guardian ad Litem to represent the childs interests. I cant say enough good things about our Guardian ad Litem program, but in this case the Guardian, a well to do socialite, had it in for my client. She superimposed her values on a poor girl who never had the same advantages that she had. She also did not believe that my client was capable of change. A Silk Stocking law firm was appointed to represent the Guardian and let me tell you it became a real David and Gollith battle. Everyday the mail was filled with pleadings they would file against us. We were losing, badly. Two weeks before trial I awoke in the middle of the night from a dream. In it, I had won the case. When I got up that morning I positively knew I was going to win. I hadnt a clue how, but I was certain of it. One week later a witness, I had no knowledge of, came forward with testimony that blew away the States case. And yes, we thereafter won; my client was able to keep her child. Over the years I have had other precognitive dreams. They come unbidden and I am not surprised anymore that they always come true. I wish we would study this phenomenon more closely. It could really help me with picking stocks to invest in. (Big smile)
