It was pointed out that children born just after 9/11/01 have no idea of the horror we all went through that day. Or the days immediately following. And most of us werent anywhere ground zero, but it was horrible, nonetheless. It was, also, pointed out that, over the years since, most reports have scrubbed the footage of the planes hitting the Towers, further desensitizing us to the horror. Well, what they can never scrub from proud Americans is the fact that we DID see the planes hit the Towers, we watched in horror as people ran for their lives. We waited for word of hope--of survivors pouring out of the mayhem. We watched the brave first responders run toward the carnage. We heard of the plane crashing into the field in Pennsylvania, and the plane crashing into the Pentagon. We watched the first tower come down, and then the second one. And still we waited for words of hope, of survivors. And we prayed, and we cried. And we called loved ones, even if they didnt live anywhere near New York, Pennsylvania, or Washington DC. None of that can be scrubbed, unless by the human heart. And many human hearts have forgotten, if not the fact, the emotions we all felt. And that is a sad commentary on the human heart, on our citizens who are so insulated in their happy little lives, in their happy little worlds. We, as a nation, MUST remember, always and forever! We MUST work hard to prevent it from ever happening again. And that means dumping the political correctness, and making some very difficult decisions over what we will allow our politicians to get by with, and who we will vote for. And it means we MUST TEACH OUR CHILDREN!!! Show them the footage of the planes hitting, of the towers coming down, of the notices plastered everywhere by people looking for loved ones, and the scenes from the emergency rooms with their waiting staff, and that no ambulances showed up with survivors. It is a terrible memory, and even more terrible task, but one we must undertake, for the sake of our children, for the sake of our Nation. Will you help me in keeping the memory alive? Will you reach deep and pull up those feelings from 9/11, and 9/12? Will you teach a child? I hope and pray so. God Bless you all, and God Bless America. -- Nanna
