It was really great to see the disco biscuits again after years of being on my own Bisco hiatus. It was great seeing old faces and running into folks I hadnt seen in years, for sure, all of you feel like my second extended family. Even better, was that it was my 75 th time seeing them, and my girls 1st! She got to see something Ive never seen either, the boys having two members of the Grateful Dead, we wanted to try and go last night, but we had somewhat of an emergency And had to rush home and get our Baby! I can only hope some day, he will enjoy this music (and all types of music Im general, that speaks to your soul) as much as Id love to have just seen the 4 members of tDB play only biscuits repertoire, it was somewhat beautiful to hear trancefusion versions of some of the songs that helped build our so called scene into such a loving, accepting community that is open to anyone and shows everyone love. It truly made me remember why the Grateful Dead are in essence, legends of this art of improvisational rock n roll and the true original Genre Blenders. It really made me remember that no matter what kind of reputation we all have for liking this music, that the truth is, in the end, it is filled with some of the most positive and caring ppl out there. And the fact that Mary had such a great time truly reminds me, that this is more than just music, its the shit that connects to our souls. It brings out the best in most of us. Thurs was her first show, and my 75th. Someday, I hope we will be saying, this is my 100th, and her 25th, and Aarons #?. These guys arent getting younger, but as out favorite bands have shown us, they just keep on truckin away. Someday, I want my son to at least see something like that in person. The good side of it. As we all know, there are dark sides to all music scenes, but the light far outweighs that. I am truly grateful for my family growing stronger, and my extended family for showing us a good time, I can always count on you guys for that..... Forever
