It was sad watching that ugly scenario from Mr. Kenyattas tour to Migori county. While the statement from ODM as read by the acting secretary general the hon. Prof Nyongo was well articulated, good and timely, jut like any politically street smart chap I can doubt its genuineness. At this age in time and in Kenya, we do not want to see people who heckle a president. Just who lied to Kenyans that Kenya cannot fail as a state. Any political line of thought culminates in utmost respect for the presidency however much you may dislike the personality of the president. Presidency is an institution anchored in our hard earned constitution and we cannot leave vagabonds to roll our historical clock back. If I get my history right, long time ago in the 60s the then president who happens to be the father of the current president visited Kisumu and the rowdy youth hurled rotten eggs at him, he ordered police to open fire leading to the death of dozens of the youth in the streets of Kisumu. That was unfortunate, it could not have happened, we regret it to date and as a country we have paid for it dearly, it marked the apex of the political enmity between the Luo and the Kikuyu nations of Kenya. This is something that has haunted Kenya since then and has derailed the socio-political efforts to create a nation out of ethnically fragmented state called Kenya. To see the youth do this again to Mr. Kenyatta at this point in time, tells me that we have an extremely politically volatile state to build, and again I ask, just who cheated Kenyans that our country can not join the league of failed states in the world???
