It was seeing my name in the 2015 roster of Arrowhead 135 coupled with sorting out some issues connected to my run at BR-135+ which shook me out of my slumber. Regular morning run is now a 20k, followed by cycling followed by the gym following by tyre dragging in the afternoon followed by speedwork in the evenings. For almost 2 weeks now, a nasty cold had me off running. With the nose a little less runny, I am able to shoot snot rockets with laser precision as I run. If they have a snot rocket shooting competition at the Rio Olympics, Im definitely a contender for gold. Cycling in lower gears gives the feeing of pedalling away merrily without getting anywhere; a feeling I have got used to and my knees are thankful for it. As for my mind, Im hoodwinking it by saying Higher Cadence as if the jargon holds some massive though unfathomable promise. Tyre dragging, I have picked up from Lisa Smith-Batchen (without her permission, I may add). A person tying himself to a tyre then trying to run with the tyre trailing behind him on the roads is free entertainment for those who wish to see. For the stray dogs, it is a new enemy to be attacked. Thankfully, the dogs know me so the attack is directed towards the tyre and methinks the dogs efforts are to try and free me from the tyre so that I can run at my usual pace. Speedwork in the evening is uneventful. Hopefully the results will creep in without me realizing it. So okay, back to training!!
