It was simply an awesome day that Corrie, Kim and their team of volunteers put together for us today. I think my word that sums it up is bittersweet. Sweet as it was nothing short of perfect, the games, the bagpipers, the rescues, meeting up with friends....the sun shining down on the Westies. With the raffle draw, I came home for the second year in a row (now how did that happen?) with a huge box of cold smoke bison bones. Last year both dogs fought over the bones every time we opened the box lol. Someone also gave me a gift certificate for free grooming in Mississauga as they were from out of town (it was their raffle win). My other raffle prize was the Scottie sweater (eyed by Ellen Beal......so Ellen, I will need directions to your place again hint, hint). The bitter part was towards the end when Corrie announced that she just received an owner surrender for a tiny Westie with such bad skin. She reminded me of Faith & Sammy from Taiwan and the condition they were in. She is of course in the most fitting of hands as WiN will do their magic on her. When Corrie announced this, there were many awws and gasps around me. Dont worry little one, when we see you next Westie Walk 2015, you will be prancing around transformed as another WiNs Cinderella story. Thank you WiN for all that you do! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
