It was the Lord who brought Job to the attention of Satan. Satan accused Job of only serving God because it profited him.” (Job 1:8-10) Satan knew there was a hedge around Job; he had obviously tried to get to him. Did you realize God can put hedges around us to protect us from the attacks of our adversary? How comforting is that? In His sovereignty, knowing that it would not be more than Job could bear, the Lord gave Satan permission to touch Job, with parameters. (Job 1:12) Satan couldn’t do whatever he wanted to Job, only that which the Lord allowed! Satan’s power is limited by God – Satan can’t do anything without God’s permission! Author Kay Author
