It was the best of times, it was the worst of times today in my constituency: (1) Visited Mahulia in Rajnagar at the invitation of the family of Sraban Sahoo, who returned from a jail in Iraq on Rakhee day (see some earlier posts). I had followed up his case regularly, and his mother broke down on seeing me again. (2) Also visited Balipal in Mahakalpada, where a feud between neighbours had led to arson and many homes burning down. Besides the first response from a charity with which I work, I was glad to see that the district administration had responded quickly to both control the situation as well as provide immediate relief. As usual, besides taking stock of the situation, I left behind self-addressed postcards and my phone numbers for constituents to keep me informed of reconstruction and other updates. My plans to review some ongoing infrastructure projects in Kendrapada had to be postponed, but will happen soon, stay tuned... jaypanda.in & @PandaJay on Twitter
