It was the last day of Autumn, At the Central park in Aveley, parkrunners made their way in, From Perth, Brisbane and Kalgoorlie. As the run director arrived, he couldnt believe his eyes, A truck parked on the course, the workers were off eating pies, The course was changed, with a fancy loop on the end, Will me make 5k, with this extra amend? So parkrun continued, a truck won’t stop us! 32PB’s were to be had, that seemed a bit suss, But we checked the garmins, the runkeepers and GPS, 5001 meters! You guys are the BEST! Mens placings: Dylan QUADRIO (SM25-29) (Unattached) was first over the line in 18:26 - first time in 11 appearances. Adam PALMER (JM15-17) (Unattached) was second over the line in 19:22. Grant WHOLEY (VM50-54) of Kalgoorlie runners, was third over the line in 19:25. Current standing in the Mens annual points competition: Anthony SMITH (Masters Athletics W.A. (Western Australia)) 3839 pts. Alan RAVEN (Unattached) 2749 pts. Paul BROADBENT (Unattached) 2668 pts. Womens placings: Margaret HADLEY (SW30-34) (Unattached) was first (4th overall) over the line in 20:04 - 14th time in 16 appearances. Emily LAIDLEY (VW35-39) (Unattached) was second (6th overall) over the line in 21:17. Amy SPARKS (SW20-24) (Unattached) was third (13th overall) over the line in 22:53. Current standing in the Womens annual points competition: Christine TAYLOR (five30runners) 3810 pts. Jenny TAPLIN (Unattached) 2811 pts. Caterina MCKENZIE (Unattached) 2357 pts. The following runners recorded the best Age Grade scores: Grant WHOLEY (VM50-54) was graded 75.97% for the time 19:25 (third overall). Margaret HADLEY (SW30-34) was graded 74.09% for the time 20:04 (4th overall). Adam PALMER (JM15-17) was graded 71.86% for the time 19:22 (second overall). This week there were 84 runners, of whom 9 were first timers and 32 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 9 different athletics clubs took part. Aveley parkrun started on 6th July 2013, and since then 697 different runners, including participants from 25 athletics clubs, have completed 2,774 runs covering a total distance of 13,870 km, and there have been 865 new Personal Bests. The womens record is held by Margaret HADLEY who ran in a time of 00:19:25 on 2014-04-19 (event number 41). The mens record is held by Dean MENZIES who ran in a time of 00:15:46 on 2014-03-15 (event number 36). The Age Grade course record is held by Matthew RAMSDEN who recorded a 82.95% run (16:31) on 26th April 2014 (event number 42).
