It was the pbc AGM last night & it was a big kick to sit around with my fellow board members & share the taste of success- finally were in profit! As recently as May 2011 we were discussing Plan B & how to escape with our shirts- a mere 2 years later & we havent dipped into the overdraft for 12 months, were well on the way to being debt-free (until we put the aircon in!) & the crumbling edifice has had extra spakfilla applied. Most rewarding for me is that all of this is a rocknroll led recovery- down to live music, craft beers & all the good folks who make us the community we are. So this is a personal thanks from me to all who come down for a beer, bowls or bands, & help preserve a little piece of inner west history AND turn it into a revitalised cultural life force. Last night we had Eightball Aitken followed by Dom Turner and Supro to help us celebrate (the inaugural monthly Brews n Roots gig). It was a fine thing indeed. Live music is alive & well with us inner-westies.
