It was the same guy on the phone. He had harassed me several - TopicsExpress

It was the same guy on the phone. He had harassed me several times on the phone at the church building where I was working. We had helped him once or twice by paying him to do some yard work, but he told me he was going to keep calling until we anted up some more money for additional work. He said, Its not over, Joe, threatening me with further pressure. I called my friend, Guy Williams, then the county sheriff, reporting the attempted extortion. Guy asked for the mans address, and I gave it to him. The Sheriff said, Well lock this guy up a few days and give him a chance to cool off and figure out what his problem is! I tell you this to balance the many things I have said about being compassionate toward the needy. In this, as in most matters, theres a balance in which we can go too far either way. I had a wise church secretary who said, Having soft hearts doesnt mean we have soft heads! (By the way, Guy Williams is the nephew of my f-b friend, Olive Williams, whose name you see here on the post from time to time.)
