It was three years ago when the SVA really took off. The Facebook page that changed my life... 150 Students arriving into Halswell on the first day, 250 the next... then I lost count. It was nothing new - people help their neighbours all the time, and we were only one such group supporting Christchurch after the earthquake... but we did it our way! :) The only reason it worked is thanks to the group of my friends who messaged me offering help (Jade, Tom *earthquake couple*), those who made hundreds of lunches (Gina, Erin, JoeandAmy, Kirsty), those who did computer things (Jonas, Matt), those who saved Kaiapoi (Christopher) and (those who helped eat the food (Gifford) and drove around in the truck (Matthew). Bob Parker gave us the support needed to make it happen, and Allan Wilson from the West Coast CD saved the day many times! There are thousands of people I want to mention, but to everyone, thank you.
