It was twelve years ago yesterday that the country awoke to extremism at its height, the attacking of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. I was in DC and saw the plane hit the Pentagon. My late nephew Cole William was living with me in Maryland (half mile from NSA) Cole was a freshman in high school at the time. They released schools at the same time they released government and everyone else. They closed the bridges into DC and shut down the subway. I could not get to Maryland to get him and started to walk. Needless to say, the subway resumed operations and I was able to fetch him. Cole is probably the closest I will come to having my own child. RIP nephew, I miss your infectious smile. My prayers are with the families of those who lost loved ones to the attacks of 9/11 as well as my sister, Carla Marie and nephew Monty Lucke. Good night all.
