It was wonderful to see a record # of folks at Asbury 2nd Saturday – including the confirmation class from Claremore 1st UMC. A mom introduced her 12-year-old daughter to me – and told her: “I wanted you to meet the man who baptized you.” They were members of Asbury – but moved to Claremore 11 years ago. What an honor! And we recognized in our 11:00 service 217 couples who’ve been married 50 years or longer. At the membership luncheon, a visitor (Matt) told me he and his wife mistakenly sat in that section. Skip and Dyanne Sidner were seated in front of them and were gracious to them (hospitality!!!) and told the embarrassed couple: “It’s okay – we’ll just adopt you as our kids today.” - Tom
