It will be coming up for 6 years ago this February that I made this (probably quite out of tune) acapella video in the tunnel in St Werberghs, Bristol, of a song I had started writing. I was a lost and lonesome 24 year old then. I remember typing Existential Crisis into Wikipedia to try and make sense of how I was feeling, which seems hilarious looking back on it. No song has ever taken us so long to work out into a proper track. James and I would try some chords with it, then wed forget about it and move on, then wed come back to it months or even years later - until eventually we finished it. It is nothing like how I originally imagined it (I remember wanting it to be like miserable doo-wop and even tried working out a harmonised vocal acapella version with some singers I knew), but I think it is probably going to be one of the best and most interesting songs on our record, and in a way it is both the one of the newest and one of the oldest tracks on there too.
