It will be mostly cloudy today with occasional showers, especially this afternoon. There will be big temperature differences across the area today with the coast and southern Pee Dee counties warming up into the 60s, while northern counties likely stay in the 50s. This is due to a warm front that will slowly move from south to north across the eastern Carolinas. Temperatures will slowly rise throughout the overnight hours and soar into the mid 70s for Sunday. It will be a warm, windy, and mostly cloudy day on Sunday ahead of a cold front that will move in late in the day. This strong cold front will bring rain and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. There is the possibility that some storms may become strong enough to produce damaging wind. Cooler and sunny weather will return behind the front with temperatures in the 50s on Monday. The coldest air so far this winter will be moving in at the end of the week with high temperatures only topping out in the 30s on Thursday with overnight lows down into the 20s.
