It wont change the amount of tar sands oil drilled, or the consumption of oil in the U.S. The State Department said it will have no effect on the environment. Oil goes for a whole lot of money and the kind folks in Alberta wont stop producing if there is no pipeline. Theyll just use trains. They are using trains to do the exact same thing as a pipeline. Some say that pipelines could break, but trains derail and explode a hell of a lot more often than a pipeline breaks. All it does it change the way that crude oil gets from Canada to the refineries. Ive heard people say that The U.S. probably wont consume the oil. The same goes for a lot of things produced in the U.S. but we dont stop production of exports for no good reason. Yes, the jobs are temporary. But so what? Jobs generated from the stimulus were temporary too but Democrats had no issue with that. What is bad about the Keystone XL pipeline? Someone please convince this disaffected liberal to not support the Keystone XL pipeline.
