It would be grand to see any Fen Speakers at this event: This exciting and radical venture is happening this Saturday at the Green Backyard and it is a show like no other. ‘Three Acres And A Cow’ connects The Norman Conquest and Peasants’ Revolt with the fracking protests and Occupy via the Enclosures and Highland Clearances, bringing a compelling narrative to the radical people’s history of Britain through folk songs, stories and poems Part TED talk, part history lecture, part folk club sing-a-long, part poetry slam, part storytelling session… Come and share in these tales as they have been shared for generations. This thought provoking event is part of Peterborough Arts Festival and will take place at the Green Backyard, a local food growing project connecting the community with the land. The show will feature nine performers from in and around Peterborough, promising to raise spirits and improve your knowledge of history with a style that is open and passionate. The ticket price includes a pre-show meal cooked with locally sourced and grown ingredients.There will be a bar available serving the best organic ale and other refreshments.
