It would be great if we never needed revival. If we just stayed so fired up for the Lord that we couldnt get any more passionate about living for Him. But you and I know it doesn’t work like that. Staying fired up and totally focused on the Lord isn’t easy. Stuff creeps into our lives that pulls our eyes off of Jesus. It could be hard times, it could be good times, it could be anytime that what I want rules over what He wants. The Bible teaches clearly and repeatedly that God wants to revive our relationship with Him. Remember what revival is: a renewed interest after a period of indifference or decline. When we need to be revived, I am so thankful that His Word and His Spirit can take us and wake us and shake us to our senses. The Lord is good to show us our need to fire up. And when I feel that, I know I need to get to a place where I can hear from Him. Fast. If you feel like your faith is a bit off course, or even way off course, you’ve got to return to the Lord. It’s time to experience all the pleasure that flows from unplugging the fountain of joy that is found only in God.
