It would be inappropriate if I present only one side of the picture. Aspirants from Sindh have protested severely on my previous post. I have served in Interior Sindh for three years and I claim myself half sindhi as well. I learned Sindhi and adopted the beautiful, tolerant and mystic culture of Sindh. My best friends are from Sindh and where ever I get chance I raise the voice of my Sindhi comrades. My heart aches for the underdevelopment in Sindh and I always try to speak for the rights of the exploited people of Sindh... I am paraphrasing a comment of one of the aspirants. He says that seeing Sindhis emotional attachment with their land, this project is a non-starter. Karachi will be made a neo-Beirut rather than a new province... Civil War in Karachi is not in favour of any of the parties settlers, Sindhis or the federation because Center relies heavily on this city for collection of Customs and Excise I agree to this argument as well.. MQM always portrays that settlers have not been welcomed in Sindh as they were in Punjab. I think its untrue. It is astonishing that more ethnic Pathans and Balochs are settled in Sindh as compared to Balochistan or Peshawer on the other hand very few Sindhis are settled in Balochistan or Punjab. Therefore MQMs stance lacks substance. It has been their own political movement which has resulted in creating fractures in a peaceful and welcoming society. Lets conclude the argument here. Lets agree to disagree. Lets understand perspectives on both sides and only then make up our own minds. I apologize for any comment which may have hurt the feelings of any.
