It would be intriguing to see an exit poll of voters in the Scottish Independence referendum with the questions: 1. Did you vote with your head? 2. Did you vote with your heart? 3. Did you vote with both? Ill not pretend I understand all of the political implications and issues at stake - nor do I have the fullest grasp of many of the arguments. But as I wrestle with feelings of being informed and yet at the same time uninformed, and as waves of suspicious motives and an intuitive feeling that there are people and arguments on both sides I simply dont trust pass over me, I can now say only one thing with certainty; that my head is bewildered, but my heart is pulling me quite firmly in one direction much more than the other. So as simplistic as it sounds, it now boils down to a single question for me. A question of my own heart. To trust or not to trust.
