It would be really cool if the moon was closer to even with the mass of earth and we were locked into a binary planet system.. so like some kind of larger impact than what created the moon hit earth during formation and instead of blowing off just part of the crust it actually forced earth to shed some of its core... and created two close to even masses that could sustain an atmosphere, have tectonics, and rotate in an appropriate way. I say this because imagine if going to the moon wasnt more or less worthless, what if there was actually a lush green world orbiting our world.. I think it would be more than likely that each and every one of us would have been in space by now if that had been the case.
