It would not be a generalisation with some exceptions, to say that - TopicsExpress

It would not be a generalisation with some exceptions, to say that Kashmiri youth have become anti-social,indolent,who get off the bed only to riot. This argument certainly contains some validity & would be acceptable to many conscious Kashmir young people who watch their counterparts elsewhere playing major role to help speed up the economic growth by making tremendous contributions. I have no hesitation to say that we have unnecessarily locked ourselves into a single rigid ideology that is specifically driven by religion. While as,our counterparts elsewhere are coming up with innovative ideas to free themselves from the shackles of poverty, corruption, diseases & unemployment. This indolent army of youth has put pressure on available resources and has potential to drag our society further into poverty. If situation continues like this, any extreme condition is inevitable in future. In the wake of current extreme circumstances,it would be irrational to let ideology block the way of progress and development that ensures job opportunity and good healthcare for poor and low income families. Some Kashmiri youth come up with the argument that economic development is not a priority.Whatever their justifications,it is not legally as well as morally right to hold poor and vulnerable hostage to their ideological adventures. In all this noise and furry,we are missing the basic underlying problems that have gone unresolved because of our calcitrant approach. It is high time to abandon our usual pessimism and change the course of history by doing our bit to spread Democracy, more education and less violence. This all will add up to much better Kashmir or else we will regret someday once we get disillusioned with everything that our self defeating ideology binds us to. I will end with this couplet: Yeh jabr be dekha hai Tareekh ki nazroon ne Lamhoo ne khata ki thee Sadyu ne Saza payi
