It would seem more women are discovering the cost savings, environmental and health benefits of using washable pads. The FDA has just reclassified them as Medical Devices which requires the businesses making them to pay thousands of dollars in annual fees. Many of these businesses are small and run by stay at home mums who cannot possible survive with such fees. As ridiculous as tampons having the GST on them, penalizing women for how they choose to manage their own hygiene and health needs is simply discrimination.
