It would seem that Johnny Depps star power is loosing a little strength at the box office. Transcendence failed to take the top spot away from Captain America this weekend (It actually came in 4th, behind Heaven is for Real,) raising some concerns for the studios. The Lone Ranger, The Tourist and even the last Pirates of the Caribbean all performed well under expectations which is not a good sign. Depp has plenty on his plate with future projects, Into The Woods and the sequel to Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass are two major titles that come rushing forward, let alone the next installment of Pirates of the Caribbean (Yup, there is another one in the works.) Will he be able to recapture his place as a superstar once again or will his dreams of retirement come earlier than anticipated?
