It would seem that mental illness needs to be addressed in a different way than it currently is in this country. Because half.... of the lone gunman mass shootings had a history of mental illness and either were under treatment or missed as needing treatment.. people either seeing signs and not reporting them or not seeing the signs of a disturbed mental history at all. I think more than just gun legislation or more thorough background checks are needed. Not sure what changes need to be done exactly.. but it seems mental illness generally needs to be treated and covered better as other illness are by insurance, etc. and we need a better understanding of it in our culture. To me it is troubling that it took people being killed for these signs to be seen in retrospect in many of these shootings. Signs were there but people did not heed them. Any thoughts...
