Itchy and Scratchy were in a box that was thrown out of a moving truck this afternoon, and they desperately need emergency medical care! The pair was in a taped up cardboard box labeled “Garage Sale”, and when the driver behind the truck saw a head pop out they picked up the box and brought them to us. They are so emaciated that the skin inside their ears and gums are snow white, and you can clearly see their backbones. Itchy (the 1-year-old, white Shih Tzu Mix) and Scratchy (the 5-year-old, brown Chihuahua Mix) are appropriately named because they are covered in hundreds of fleas. It’s amazing they’re still alive… They need an emergency blood transfusion tonight! They are currently en route to our friends at Blue Pearl Emergency Vet Services, after our vets gave them initial medical care.
