#Itikaaf and Tahajjud starts tonight in GH!! (17-7-14) #27 Ramadan diaries (20th Ramadan) i) What is itikaaf? ii) When does itikaaf start in Ghana?. iii) When does Laylatul Qadr search start?? i) I’tikāf is the religious retreat, a seclution in the mosque for the last ten days of Ramadhan (i.e last ‘asharah). ii) The itikaf shud start tonight (17-7-14) in Ghana by magrib in_Shaa_Allaah The last ‘asharah starts from the beginning of 21st day of Ramadhan. Since in islam the night precedes the day, the night of 21st of Ramadhan starts with the sunset of 20th of Ramadhan. Hence to complete your I’tikāf, you should make sure that you are in your designated masjid before the fast of 20th finish. And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best iii) The search for the night better than 1000 nights --laylatul Qadr (The night of Decree) thus starts tonight as well in_Shaa_Allaah!
