Its 3 am. Brig and I got home about 30 minutes ago. What a long day. Im always glad I dont know or expect the days to be so long, otherwise i would totally dread things like transfusions. We headed to the store, got some bean with bacon soup and now were home watching Tarzan. Ah, home sweet home. Brig had quite the surprise waiting for him in the mail. He got a package from a buddy of mine from high school. Telling him about his troop and family. He introduced brig to each of the guys in his section. And then told brig because he is so strong and brave, they needed him on their team. He then sent him 2 coins, one from his battery, that is common and one from his section, which only 100 were made, and brig now has one, and is keeping it safe and is honoring it! I cant tell you how much this package meant to a little 7 year old boy (and his mom) who just fought his own war today. He needed to hear that hes strong and brave and is being asked to keep being strong and brave, because hes part of something now. It brings a tear to my eye that people are so good to us, and more that people are so intune with their promptings. This was exactly what brig needed. He got blood and platelets to boost the physical part of this battle, and this incredible package in the mail to boost his morale. Thank you.
