Its 4:00 am over here in Munich and i cant sleep. So while im stuck here reminiscing over my missing baby, i might aswell make a post of it.. I bought the mk3 for $900 with my own cash in hand at 16. The shit didnt run for more than 20 seconds, it had bombed paint, beat up steelies, no HVAC, power steering slipped, shitty half-interior, a horrible exhaust and numerous little problems. But who cares, its your first car, right? As soon as i saw it i fell in love with it. I bought a car i couldnt drive, so i worked on it. Almost 4 yrs later i got rid of it due to rust (ofcourse).. and i have to say this was the most awesome $900 learning tool i have ever bought. All of those hours and dollars spent into one rust bucket led to great driving experiences and moments with people along the way. To all of you on the road who took the time to compliment it, call it a piece of shit or whatever -i was damn proud of myself and regret nothing... i know alot of others feel the same! *Once you get a dub, you need another one. (Now im living around Euros..) That mk3 was the fuel for my love of cars.
