Its 5:30 am here in Vancouver.. I slept last night with tears in my eyes.. I cant help it when my own people, my relatives, the place where I grew up are suffering from the super typhoon yolanda.. My relatives lost their houses,the whole Capiz was swept by Yolanda. After 36hours that the typhoon hit the province, some towns including my own Dumalag, have no electricity. From Roxas, you need to travel for hours to get to Dumalag but the road is not passable right now. The trees on the road and the flood in the area are keeping people to reach my beloved Dumalag. Canadian medias (newspaper and radio) have been calling me for interviews. They were asking what are we Pinoys here in Vancouver are doing for the victims. I got in-touch with Luisa Marshall and shes heading the drive right now. I have done many projects online and offline but not for my place because. Together with my friends here on facebook, I helped the victims of Pablo in December 2012 and collected the total amount of 50,000pesos. With the Pinoy Forumers Societys help headed by Jnengnt Gundan, we raised money for the Ondoy victims. During the earthquake in Bohol in October 2013, I collected more than 19,000 pesos. These projects are just few of what I have done to help in my little way. Thank you to all of you my friends. With what happened to my town, I wont forgive myself if I dont organize to help them :( The interviews made by TV, radio, newspapers and other media are nothing if actions are not made. I am calling you guys to assist me please. I dont know what to do. All I know is there has to be somebody to start this. I never begged when I am soliciting in the past but this is different today. The people that I used to talk, the place where I started to dream as a kid, the beautiful place of Dumalag Capiz is badly hit by the super typhoon. Please help me to lend a hand to them.
