Its 5 p.m. Thursday, May 1st. The level on the river gage is at 6.99. Thats over 2 feet too much for a safe float. Some people ask, why cant we go out when its like this? Look at that water and imagine if you flipped or lost your paddles....no way to recover from that.....the water is moving much too fast to be able to grab anything...its gone.....and its just plain creepy when its that muddy.... It seems to be dropping fast so we are hoping we can open this weekend but still another day and a half to go to make that call.
