Its 9:00pm and it has been raining in Chiang Mai since 6:00. Its not the usual Rainy Season monsoon where it pours down like a fire hose. Rather it is a soft rain with cool breezes. Its the kind of rain that makes it easy to sleep. Its also the kind of rain that makes me wish I had a microphone outside connected to speakers in my apartment so I could hear the rain without having to leave my balcony door or window open. The song, I Love a Rainy Night by Eddie Rabbitt has been going through my head for hours. Tonight I am grateful it is that song. For too long, rain storms made me think of I Wish it would Rain Down by Phil Collins. I have come a long way since those days. One thing that changed is I have learned to let go of expectations and to focus on the beautiful things all around me.
