Its 9/11. Ive already seen a number of sappy, misleading, hyper-nationalistic messages to Never forget. To which I respond: NEVER FORGET that the 9/11 attacks were not an unprovoked, out of the blue act of rage and madness by crazy terrorists. They were -- according to Bin Laden himself -- a very deliberately planned act of revenge against the US for its support of Israels bombing of Lebanon in the 1980s -- acts committed by Israel, aided and abetted by the US, that killed thousands of innocent people -- women, children, everyday folks just living their lives in Lebanon. NEVER FORGET that the US continues to commit acts of terror against unarmed, civilian citizens of a number of other countries every day. NEVER FORGET that all US citizens are at risk of being targeted by those we have harmed, whether or not they approve of the US government/militarys actions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan, etc. etc. etc. etc. NEVER FORGET that Pat Tillman was killed by friendly fire -- US troops. Some people think he was deliberately targeted for assassination because of his outspoken opposition to the US war in Afghanistan.
