As promised, here is an update on one of our Give Me a Bone Foundation patients. Tonys story is posted below titled Its Amazing What You Can Do With Bullets These Days... Its now 4 weeks later and weve distracted the leg and applied a small bone plate to replace the external fixator. The humerus in the affected leg is now 3mm shorter than its counterpart (started off 28mm shorter) and Tony is now starting to be able to walk on the leg. There is some residual neurological damage that is resolving with physio therapy and time. We will need a foster placement for him in about a week if any of our folks with experience caring for an orthopedic case are interested.
