Its Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and unless youve been living under a rock, you know that! I think its so wonderful that an entire month is devoted to educating men and women about this terrible disease. I keep seeing organizations, hospitals even, placing so much emphasis this month on celebrating breast cancer survivors. While I think that is great (truly!!), I wish more would choose to both celebrate the survivors AND honor those who have died from this terrible disease. Truth be told, those who died didnt fight any less. They didnt give up too soon nor did they lose the battle. (I hate that phrase.) Those who died just had a different set of circumstances...I hate cancer...ALL cancers...its touched my life all too closely, and I cant wait for the day when we dont even have to think about it any more! Mom, you were so brave...I love you, and I miss you every day...
