Its Christmas Eve morning and absolutely the last thing I want to be posting are sad stories with horrible visuals. I want to post more letters to Santa, with silly pictures, and humorous quotes from the dogs in our program, but we have a huge mission today and we cant do it without your support and without you sharing the need at hand. Most of you saw last night our post about the three puppies who have been burned. They are true fighters. Despite the pain and discomfort they were still trying to play with one another at Blue Pearl last night. This video was taken when they first arrived and you can see that they are so inquisitive and have not given up. The vet staff there was simply amazed, most of them having never seen burns so severe as the worst of the three pups.....who is also dealing with respiratory issues from extreme smoke inhalation, but so full of himself he was trying to chew out his catheter before they could get the pain meds going!!!! Right now we dont know the extent of what treatment their future holds and are waiting to hear from the surgeon this morning. We do know they gave us an estimate of $2-5K for EACH puppy and this morning we need to make an 80% deposit for their care. Its not the time of year for fundraising and we know that....but its never the time of year to turn our backs on such a need as this. This is when everyone chipping in a dollar or two is going to make a huge difference!!!!
