Its Ebola thats on my mind... I still cannot understand why we wont quarantine suspected cases. No question that it would be very inconvinencing to those involved and would stretch the lean purse of the government, but recent episodes where healthcare workers (who should know better) have spread the condition to Enugu and Port Harcourt clearly shows how effective surveillance is. With over 250 people now exposed and suspected cases, we learn from our errors and enforce a quarantine. And for those who think a proper quarantine would be too expensive to run, go and read about the state of affairs in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. If we cannot afford to quarantine 300 people, we certainly cannot afford a country wide epidermic! IMHO, to continue to allow exposed persons the liberty to travel at will makes the Minister of Health more culpable that Mr Patrick Sawyer.
