Its Engineers Day today ! We Engineers are considered boring, unsocial, lazy enough to take ages to smile and enjoy life.. etc etc. Most of us live like a UFO or Aliens, either because we are only found tangled in wires, with grease on our hands or faces, or with red eyes that get burnt by staring at computer screens for continuous hours. Most of our friends from different professions have interesting stories to share. But all we know, is an art to bore the other person with our jargons and laughing ourselves on our jokes, while other people wonder if something is wrong with us. While other people appreciate beauty of a dress or a building or a car or any natural thing, we are busy calculating things like dimensions, torques, RAM and processor speed in the depth of our brains. While other people tell names of famous fiction and non-fiction books as their favourites, we get embarrassed to tell that all we have read are books on Java, C, Engineering Mechanics, Electronics and Communications etc. Most of the people fail to recognise us if we meet them after a week, because within a week, we develop new jargons and new lines on our foreheads. We know how to communicate with machines but we do not know how to start a conversation with an unknown human being. As soon as we tell that one of our favorite movies is Matrix and we imitate Agent Smith by calling other person as Mister Neo Anderson, other people look at us in an awkward way or simply run away making excuses. But still, we keep working to develop things, right from a wooden wheel to an intelligent device which is helping you to read this right now. Happy Engineers Day !! And last but not least - Question : Why are some people terrible at Linux? Answer : Because they are hardwired to append secular after sudo everytime. :) :) :)
