Its GO-Time for my last Whately Police Triathlon! Its bittersweet for sure. I started my own training on this course, then made it happen as an actual USAT sanctioned event. Learned a LOT on the way too. Am I a pro? Not even close, I just DO IT! Saw a LOT of newbies turn in to Triathletes and the feeling of accomplishment Ive shared with them and witnessed has been heart-filling. I will NOT apologize for hanging up my RD hat this afternoon. Its been a fabulous 7 years! I have more things on my list to accomplish and devote my time to, I must step away and follow my heart, is it easy to end something that really makes me proud-not for me, but for all the people that show up and achieve a HUGE milestone, NO its hard.! A sprint tri aint no walk around the block- you have to commit and train and work HARD. I have always dedicated this race to the memory of my Dad, who was a police officer as well as a Fire Chief - a public servant at his best. He has given me some FABULOUS weather every single year and hes doing it again today! To everyone who has showed up and helped me out year after year, when you REALLY didnt want to - Thank You! You really do NOT know how much I appreciate it!
