Have some favorites to recommend, but just for a second want to comment on businesses that have passed, and what we miss when we forget that as consumers, we are the ones that contribute to the success or failure of many of those shops. Sometimes the closing of doors, or reorganization under bankruptcy protection, is more due to poor business practices on the part of ownership - so as clients and customers - well, we tried. But it shouldnt make us turn to big, impersonal options as our only source when spending hard earned cash. So, gone [in a format loved] - but not forgotten: The Ridge Theater, Varsity Theater, Arbutus Lanes, Duthies Books, Woodwards, The Fray on Fraser, Vancouver Photo on Commercial Drive [bought 1st SLR there].... sigh..... So - support your local, independent merchant - especially today INDIE FRIDAY!! Todays favorites - Just Jewellery - just-jewellery.ca - in South Surrey. Christmas is approaching, and I guaranty youll find something great in any price range here. Guys...? Although they have more than one outlet, you still get expert service and a pretty good selection from Lens & Shutter. lensandshutter - Theyve had some trouble of late, and have just 3 stores now and a new owner. Hopefully they can accommodate those who have outstanding business with the old entity - its not difficult to honor deposits and keep good relations and solidify or rebuild customer loyalty. If you are in Kits, head over to Corner Cup Cafe - cornercup.ca - Bruno knows how to make a great Macchiato.
