Its Magnify Monday! Praying everyone has a good day at work/school. I posted a couple weeks ago about watching the movie, Gods Not Dead. Looking at this movie, and seeing some things in my own life, reminded me about the need like never before to stand for the LORD Jesus Christ. The student in this movie could have easily just written GOD is dead on the paper, like his professor asked. After all, it was his business, so why worry about one ignorant professor? But he felt like he couldnt just blindly accept that, because he KNEW better. That challenge he undertook was costly, but GOD, of course, got the glory, and the young man was lauded for daring to stand up for Him. I reflect back to the men in Daniel: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (deliberately didnt use their Babylonian names). Though they were in a strange place, they didnt lose their song (Psalm 137:4: message to come on that). Their song wasnt with music, it was their lives. In a place where they were expected to be like those around them, they dared to be different. They too were faced with a choice: bow to appease the king, or stand and burn. They chose to stand, and GOD came to them. I caution that we are always to be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves, and we must wisely pick our battles, because not every thing is an opportunity to defend the Gospel, but merely a pointless argument (II Timothy 2:14). Stand, like the song says, for Holiness, stand for righteousness, and be counted among them that shall reign with Him. Be blessed. And a shout out or two, to the people who have had my back during this transition, and even checked me (in a good way): Tammy Frank, Tia Byrd, Joanne Kennedy, Gracelee Walker, and a special shout out to my brothers in the Gospel, Curtis Elam Jr., and Elder Carlton Francis.
