Its Mommy here tonight! Sorry we havent been online much lately, theres just been so much going on in the offline part of our lives! Today was a rough day for a couple little dogs! Bill and I got home from some shopping and took the four girls outside, right? Well, normally they take care of business, play for a few minutes and are ready to go inside and watch us eat lunch and pray for crumbs to fall. They all came in...except no Miss Molly! I stuck my head out the back door and called her name and heard a little tiny bark from not too far away so I went looking for her. There she was, sitting in the (weed) garden, just watching and waiting for me to come pick her up. I tried. She had gotten a plant (wildflower or weed) stuck between her toes...and it was a sticky kind of plant so it was also stuck to both pads! She wouldnt let me pull it off/out, but instead whimpered and tried to nip at me. Now Miss Molly may nip at some people, but I am NOT one of them. I knew she wasnt comfortable so I broke the plant and carried her inside. I still couldnt free her from the green green weeds of the garden, so off we went to the vet! Shes free! Shes fine! Shes the darling of the office! Well, Miss Molly was the darling of their office until Cami showed up late this afternoon after having had a run in with a wasp or two! You see, Cami has her favorite spot in the yard...behind the garage, clear up against that corner of the fence line. She just thinks thats HER spot! I heard a yip and went running. I rounded the corner of the garage just in time to see something dive bomb her, she yipped again and tucking her tail between her legs, hauled ass for the door! Cami moved faster than I have EVER seen her move. Shes a laid back little lady, slowed down by the effects of diabetes and all those surgeries etc. But today...she moved FAST! Bolt of lightning fast! I popped 1/2 a benadryl into some peanut butter and let her gobble that down and then off to the vet we went! I swear that place sees more of my money than I do! LOL Cami refuses to go to that side of the yard now. Nowhere near it in fact! Shes using the opposite side of our rather large yard! And affectionate? WOW! Shes never been a real cuddler, but today and tonight, all she wants is to be with either Bill or I. Wrapping her little front legs around our arms and holding on tight! Or laying on my shoulder with her head in the crook of my neck. Im not used to this...and Im sorry it took a run in with a wasp to get this...but...oh wow...shes super affectionate and Bill and I are both enjoying it while it lasts! Camis fine. The swelling is going down on both of her spots and shes snoozing comfortably for the night, all tucked in beneath her Fergies Fleece that shes had since right after she came to us last November! Mollys fine too, curled up as snug as a bug in a rug in her tiny little crate (she loves her tiny pet taxi for some reason), snoring the house down already! So...thats todays version of Life at the Hightower Zoo, Angels! Have a great night!
