Its Monday and because I love Mondays (not!), I think this post is needed. I am a Portrait, Corporate & Erotic Photographer, Cinematographer / DoP & Director. I have no formal training in photography/film as I spent 12 years working on Trading Floors since I was 17 and my last desk job was at Reuters. Currently Im a single mother and I left my desk job to be a good mother and do photography and filming full-time. Im not a MUA, or a Stylist, or a Designer or a Race Car Driver... I shoot digital as well as film images and I make short films. I didnt spend most of my savings on my equipment and classes at New York Film Academy to work for free. I started as a press photographer for Reuters and then quickly learned I preferred shooting most of the burlesque community! They have given me courage and inspiration in what was a very new profession. And I shoot normal people whos portraits are private. I shoot fashion but I am not a fashion photographer and if you want one, there are many good ones out there like Adam Robertson. I shoot models but I prefer real people with real bodies and real insecurities. I dont retouch either, so if you want to look like someone else, go to a different photographer. I dont teach because my style is unorthodox and I shoot the way I want. I have been fortunate enough to have an amazing muse in the form of Bettsie Bon Bon who has shot with me for a few years now and encouraged my style and my career progression. But I also work with different people like Hayley -Missy Fatale- Harvey and Sadie Sinner and Lou Safire for inspiration and who are amazing in front the camera. Photographers like Man Ray and David Bailey inspire me. Im not here to step on anyones toes or compete with anyone. I am me and I shoot the way I want. I have bills and responsibilities like everyone else and I want to be paid for my work just like everyone else. Respect my craft and respect me for not conforming to what Vogue says you should look like.
