Convective outlook showing showers, thunderstorms, and severe weather. thunderstorm outlooks for 1200/NOON, 1600/4PM and 2000/8PM EDT. Fire weather which included red flag watch/warning and fire weather watch/warning, fire hot spots. Severe weather which includes hail, tornadic, and high winds. Flooding conditions are expected in the lower Mississippi River and in the southeastern US.. Hawaii: Dry, stable, and cool conditions will persist through Monday as northeasterly winds weaken and shift out of the southeast by late Monday. A front will sweep down the island chain on Tuesday and Tuesday night, bringing gusty winds with only modest rainfall. A brief period rather dry northerly flow is expected Wednesday into Thursday followed by unsettled weather Thursday night and Saturday. National Radar Summary and Cadillac MI Radar Sector as of 0700 / 7AM EST. Have a large area of snow, heavy snow and possible thundersnow much across the northern tier of the United States and southern Canada from the Maritimes, new England Great Lakes, Northern and Central Plains, Northern and Central Rockies across to the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia with no radar cell returns. Have a wide frontal line of showers thunderstorms and possible severe weather later today from southern New England and the Long Island area southwestward into the Texas Gulf and east into Florida, Bahamas, Cuba with cells 20,000 to 35,000 (coded 200 to 350) feet. Expecting possible watch warning boxes (blue - severe thunderstorms / red - tornadic) later today. Cadillac MI Radar Sector has mostly snow and possible heavy snow along the coastal regions of the great Lakes with no radar returns. Use extreme caution in the coastal regions for snow squalls, and streamers. I included a weather map from yesterday over the area where the Air Asia Airbus320 vanished. Have a large area of severe weather with cells around 50,000 (coded 500) feet. Also factor in a Newly formed tropical center / typhoon with the identification of TC NN with cells up to 52,000 (coded 520) feet and to the southwest of the area tropical storm / Typhoon Kate with cells around 50,000 (coded 500) feet.
