Its Monday, the start of a new week. The start of a new chapter - TopicsExpress

Its Monday, the start of a new week. The start of a new chapter for Scotland. There have been many things said and done in the last few days from both sides of the debate, now its my turn. Im not going to write a long obituary to a dream, its not my place to do so and I wouldnt do it justice. I will, however, write something fitting, something from the heart. Alba, tha gaol agam ort. The last two years of my life have been shaped with one goal in mind, Scottish Independence. I knew early on that to make this goal a reality, Id have to work hard and Id have to persuade the people around me that a Yes vote was the only option. Most of my friends voted Yes last week, for a number of reasons, Id like to think I played a part in their decision. Its my friends that felt a No vote was a better option for Scotland, I say this: Be proud of your vote, never feel the need to justify your actions. We had the most privileged of situations last week, the chance to vote on independence. No guns, just a pen and a piece of paper. The next time the independence questions comes up, and there will be a next time, I hope to reach out to you guys in particular. I understand for some independence is just something thatll never sit fine with, and thats fine. So, until the next time, keep yourself active in politics and politics will stay active with you. To my friends who voted Yes, who thought Scotland should be an independent nation, I thank you. I thank you from the deepest depths of my heart. Dont give up the fight, ever. What we achieved together was amazing. We only need to persuade 6% of the population to come on board with us and sail our ship to the harbour of freedom. The campaign was the most beautiful thing Ive ever been a part of. Websites like Bella Caledonia and Wings Over Scotland became almost as important as Google to many of us. The White Paper, taken with me most everywhere I went, now sits forlorn. To those that were active whether that be online, canvassing, leafleting or even just persuading people at work to vote yes, its people like you that politics in this country needs. Theres been many calls for Yes people to join political parties and I have to say, I dont agree with that entirely. Joining a political party should be something you want to do if you truly believe in that partys morals, policies and ethic. The thing I will beg of you all, the people who supported yes. In May vote SNP. By voting SNP in May we can make sure Scotland has a voice in Westminster like never before. Voting SNP in May is the only option if we are to get another chance at this. By all means, in the 2016 Scottish Election, vote Scottish Socialist or Scottish Greens reward those parties for the fight they put in. I really appreciated all the messages the last few days, sorry if I didnt reply. I am truly and utterly heartbroken for the first time in my life. I was part of the most amazing team of people ever, in particular; Marie & Alan, Colin & Nadia and David & Carol. Three couples that gave up their lives, invited us into their homes and made a life friend in me. There were hundreds of amazing people throughout the journey, itd be ridiculous if I listed them all. Know this, youre in my heart and Id go to the end of the earth and back for you all. I know youre hurting but we cant stop now. Alex got us in view of the finish line, its up to us to go that extra wee bit. We are the independence generation and our time will come. Thanks x
