Its Mothers Day, and with that comes a lot of emotion and feelings. There are soooo many dynamics when it comes to what motherhood looks like. I looked up the definition of mother and it said at the bottom, after all the politically correct stuff THIS: Because of the complexity and differences of a mothers social, cultural, and religious definitions and roles, it is challenging to specify a universally acceptable definition for the term. Id like to think that means its meaning has no bounds. Being a mother cannot be defined in one way because there are too many ways that qualify. YOU GUYS this is truth I am about to speak so listen up. If you are struggling with infertility your maternal desire makes YOU A MOTHER. If you are a birth mom who selflessly placed her baby in another mamas arms YOU ARE A MOTHER. If you are a mama who received one of those blessings- YOU ARE A MOTHER. If you dont have children of your own but you love, nurture, and adore, YOU ARE A MOTHER. If you have lost a sweet baby YOU ARE STILL A MOTHER. We are ALL mothers because of a little thing called love. Love weaves us all together into a beautiful thing called MOTHERHOOD. I also looked up the definition of motherhood and this is what it said: the qualities or spirit of a mother. Motherhood does not have to look any certain way. Some womens arms are full. Some womens arms are empty but no matter your circumstance YOU are a mother because the word mother knows no boundaries, and cannot be clearly defined. So.. on this day lets celebrate not just mothers but motherhood. Lets celebrate the community of women in our lives who help us be better women, who can then be better mothers. Let us celebrate the women in our lives who influence our kids and help us raise them by sharing who they are with our children. We are all in motherhood together- as friends, as sisters, as mothers!
