Its National Coming Out Day. Some folks say...why all the bother. Just keep it private. I say no. When we are quiet - it is easy to ignore us because you dont know us. It is easy to vote against measures to ensure our equal treatment (which by the way is why we are a Republic and not a Democracy...but dont get me started on that). Once you know us....you know that we are really just regular folks. Like everyone else, loving our families, commuting to the job, paying the bills, serving our communities....living. To know who we are is to lose the fear and move into disinterest over differences....to get to the point where who I love is not an issue at all. Happy National Coming Out Day. Lose the fear.
