Its Not Over Until God Says Its Over written by Joel Osteen December 21 2012 A while back, a young man told me how he had applied for a scholarship at a certain college, but the man who was responsible for approving the scholarship wasnt very friendly to him. Academically, the young man was very qualified. He had great grades, but the man just decided to turn him down. The young man was so discouraged. He said, Joel, I just dont understand why it didnt work out. I encouraged him by simply saying, Its not over until God says its over. I went on to say, Every day you need to say, Father, thank You that You have the right people in my path, and I have favor with everyone that I meet. Several months later, I ran into this young man again, but this time he was so excited. He said, Joel, I got a better scholarship. I said, Really? Where are you going to school? He said, Im going to the same school. He went on to tell how that same man called him back and said, I cannot get you off my mind. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about you. I drive to work thinking about you. I eat dinner thinking about you. He said, Im going to give you a scholarship, but we dont have any of those left like we talked about. They were partial scholarships. So he said, Im going to go ahead and give you one of our full scholarships. Friend, God knows how to turn the hearts of people, and if He doesnt turn them, He can certainly move them out of the way. You have to remember that He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Hes got the right people, the right breaks, the right opportunities lined up for you. With God there are no disadvantages. You may have been through some bad breaks in life. You may have had some disappointments, but let me encourage you; dont stay on that page. There are new chapters up ahead. The Scripture talks about how God has recorded every day of our life before we were ever even born. That means theres a book already written with your life story in it, and it has a great ending! Its not over until God says its over, so keep standing, keep believing, keep hoping because God has wonderful things in store for your future!
