Its October 31, and today is Johnny Marrs 51st birthday, born this date in 1963. Hes probably best known as the guitarist and co-songwriter for the Smiths. In 2013, the music magazine NME said this about Marr: not content with rewriting the history of music with one of the worlds greatest ever bands, the Smiths, hes continued to push boundaries and evolve throughout his career, working with some of the best and most exciting artists on the planet. Ive got a soft spot for synth pop, and I really like the work he did with Bernard Sumner of New Order in the group they called Electronic. But today I want to play a classic Smiths song that features Marr not only on the guitar but also on harmonica. -Chris
